Fruit Tree – Forbidden Fruit × Purple Punch

The Cali Connection have brought together two heavyweights of the Californian dessert segment here: Forbidden Fruit (Cherry Pie × Tangie) contributes cherry, citrus and a floral sweetness, while Purple Punch (Larry OG × Granddaddy Purple) adds grape, berry and the tendency towards purple colouring. The breeder themselves describe the aroma as a soft, floral blend of cherry and lavender with a hint of sweet hash – long-lasting and unusually layered.

Worth noting: growers report two phenotypes – a citrus-forward one with more limonene and ocimene, and a berry-leaning one with myrcene and linalool. The peppery caryophyllene core is there in both.

Growth & Structure

Vigorous, robust growth with very good branching. The variety clearly rewards topping – top it once and you get a wide, evenly filled plant instead of one dominant main cola. It only shows its full beauty late in bloom: colourful, densely packed flowers with pronounced resin production, which is why it has a good name among extract makers.

Cultivation

Photoperiod, flowering time 8–9 weeks (65–69 days). Indoors the breeder puts the yield at roughly 200–300 g/m² – no yield monster, but exceptionally good-natured and forgiving of mistakes. That makes it a good fit for a first or second grow.

Outdoors it works in warmer spots or under cover; for a harsh climate I wouldn't recommend it as a first choice. If you want to coax out the purple tones, drop the night temperature by a few degrees over the last two weeks.
